HARTLAND - John Libby, III, 81, passed away on the morning of November 9, 2020 while being cared for at Sanfield Rehab and Living Center. John was born March 19, 1939 in Harmony a son of John and Ethel (Giggey) Libby, Jr. He was a Christian man with a giving heart. He opened his home in Dexter to many that were in need. He often would give rides to hitch hikers to be able to share his love for God. He loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to church and would attend every chance he got. He was a gentle, kind man and always had a smile to share. He will be dearly missed. John is survived by his wife, Helen (Cray) Libby; and 2 children, John Libby, IV and wife Diane (Curtis) Libby, Cherri and husband Darrin McDougal; granddaughter Elora (Dami) Clavier and husband Dakota; step grandchildren Alex and wife Rebecca McDougal and Charisma McDougal, and Alex's 2 little girls Delila and Ellie; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Everett Libby and 2 sisters Eleanor Cromwell and Opal Greene. A family graveside committal service will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, November 16th at the Libby Cemetery, Harmony. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal.
