John William Russell, 75, died February 1, 2020 at a Dexter healthcare facility. He was born September 16, 1944 in Brownville, a son of Ernest and Fern (Royal) Russell. John was a longtime foreman at Dexter Shoe Company and later, was employed at the Dexter Regional Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed camping, computers and golfing, and was a communicant of Our Lady of The Snows Parish, St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra (Clukey) Russell of Dexter; his children, Michelle and husband Tim Rodrigue of Shawmut, John Russell and wife Monica Kemm of Hampden; aunts Carolyn Young of Bangor, Mary and husband Allen Sibley of Orrington; uncles Clayton Royal of Dexter and Roland Royal of Milo; many brothers and sisters in law; and many nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by a brother Carroll Russell and a sister, Sheila Thurber.

A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, at a time to be announced. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
