ETNA-Joyce A. Bubar, 84, died January 2, 2022 at a Bangor nursing Home. She was born May 2, 1937 in Bangor, a daughter of Alphonso and Thirza (Young) Conant. She graduated from Newport High School.

Joyce was employed with the U. S. Postal Service as an Assistant Postmaster, retiring in 2013. She loved going to camp, taking day trips with her husband Verne, and vacationing in Florida with her brother Vincent.

She is survived by 2 sons, Gerry Bubar of Bucksport and Reginald and wife Tricia Bubar of Etna; a daughter Doreen Bubar and companion Stanley Getchell of Etna; 5 grandchildren, Brock, Britney, Brandi, Erika and Patrick Bubar; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Verne in 2018; 3 sisters, Elaine, Dorothy and Gloria; and her brother Vincent and wife Peggy.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 5th from 5 to 7 P. M. at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 2 P. M. Thursday with the Rev. Stan Griffin officiating. Spring burial will be in the Etna Cemetery, Etna.
