DEXTER - Karen Taft, 48, died August 28, 2019 at a Portland hospital. She was born September 26, 1970 in Bangor, a daughter of James and Wanda (Sewall) Woodard.
Karen was employed as the activity director at Sanfield Rehab and Living Center in Hartland for 14 years and presently served in that capacity at Dexter Nursing Home. She enjoyed kayaking, camping, and hiking to waterfalls, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kristy Woodard of Dover-Foxcroft, Matthew Taft, Starr, Daniel and Greg Tasker, all of Dexter; 5 sisters, Wendy Martin of Dexter, Peggy Woodard-Ryder, Jimakea and Cheyanne Woodard, all of Carmel, and Georgie Parent of Milford; 6 grandchildren, Cadence, Skyler, and Mason Tasker, Kallie Stone, Taylor Michaud and Madison Taft; many nieces and nephews; her partner, Mark Tasker of Dexter; and her ex-husband and friend, Marc Taft of Corinna.
Karen was predeceased by her parents, and step-father, Harlan Kirk.
Friends may pay their respects from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A graveside committal service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 4th, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with the Rev. Andrew Bermudez officiating.
