EXETER - Kenneth Smith, 58, died January 14, 2019 at his residence surrounded by loved ones. He was born March 21, 1960 in Exeter, a son of Clyde and Sandra (McEwen) Smith, Jr. He graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1978. Ken was employed as a truck driver until his retirement due to failing health. He will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and kind heart.
He was a founder and member of the Exeter ATV Club, a member of the Cross Country Cruisers Snowmobile Club, Harley Owners Group, Teamsters Local # 340, Pacific Lodge # 64 AF & AM, the Cornerstone Baptist Church and also attended the South Levant Baptist Church. He enjoyed trucking, snowmobiling, camping, riding his Harley (motorcycle), but most of all, loved spending time with his family and friends, and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his parents of Dexter and Zephyrhills, Florida; his wife Tressa of Exeter; his children, Joshua (Heather), Jessica (Colin), Jerrod (Erin) and their mother Susan Trafton; Jacob (Kelsey) and Derek and their mother, Lori Monroe; and a step-son Justin (Samantha) Gudroe; 3 brothers, Wayne (Teresa), twin brother Keith (Deanna) and Jeff (Amy); 6 grandchildren, Cayleigh, Averie, Addison, Logan, Jacob, Jr., and Granger.
Ken was predeceased by a grandson, Kenneth.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Northern Light Hospice caregivers Nancy, Melissa, and all of those who assisted in his daily care.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 19th, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Exeter, with Pastors Stan Griffin and John Hersey officiating. Burial will be in the Exeter Center Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 U. S.
