Obituary

PLYMOUTH--Kevin M. Doody, 56, died unexpectedly February 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1962 in Caribou, a son of Delmar and Maria (Gillespie) Doody. He graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1980, and later obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Master's Degree in Human Resources. Throughout his 38-year military career as Chief Warrant Officer Five, Kevin distinguished himself in a succession of positions of great importance and responsibility in the Army National Guard, between April 1980 and July 2018. During his exemplary career, he served in a multitude of positions throughout the Maine Army National Guard working in the field of personnel management. Kevin was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed running, travel, cooking, and entertaining. Kevin loved music and attended hundreds of concerts. He especially loved being surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his husband, Jerry of Plymouth; 2 brothers, Peter and wife Susan of Scarborough and Ricky and wife Barb of N. C.; 3 sisters, Darlene of Bangor, Carol and husband Gene of Newport, and Sue and husband Tom of S. C.; and loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P. M. Friday, February 8th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held 11 A. M. Sunday, February 10th at the Newport Recreation Center, with Chaplain (Colonel) Andrew Gibson officiating. Spring burial with full military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
