Obituary

CORINNA & ETNA--Kevin A. Stratton, 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 18, 2021 with his family by his side, after a long battle with liver disease caused by diabetes. He was born November 10, 1956 in Springfield, MA, a son of Leonard and Shirley (Morin) Stratton. Kevin attended schools in Springfield, MA, then after moving to Augusta, Maine, in 1976, he attended the Winthrop Workshop for Disabled Adults for several years. Kevin lived almost his entire life with his family, in MA, Augusta, Belfast, Corinna and Etna (with Tim & Sandy) until his recent stay at Hibbard Skilled Nursing Center, in Dover-Foxcroft. Kevin made friends wherever he went. He was a loyal Red Sox fan, loved plants (what a green thumb he had), soap operas, disco music/dancing and hymns. He loved his pets and all animals. He truly was a dog-whisperer. For those that didn't know him Kevin was a very kind, strong and smart man. He will surely be missed by his family and friends. Kevin is survived by his brothers Leonard (Susan) Stratton of Corinna, William (Olin) Stratton of Leesburg, VA; sisters Sheila (Joe) Haley of Palmyra and Sandy (Tim) Hazeltine of Etna; nephews and nieces Scott Stratton, Chad Stratton, Amy Redford, Samantha Scuric, Jennifer Bodzinski; many grandnephews and nieces; a great aunt, Madeline Pine; two aunts, Janice Hunt and Constance Lamson; and many, many cousins. Kevin was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Thomas Stratton. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hibbard Skilled Nursing Center for their care of Kevin, especially Aaron, Jim and Melissa, Stephanie, Cheryl, Loretta, Patty and many others. The family also wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Darin Peck who so wonderfully managed Kevin's health issues. There will be a private burial this fall at the Corinna Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Kevin requested that donations be made to the humane society of your choice. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal.
