PALMYRA - Leslie John "Les" Russell, 71, died on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was born October 17, 1948 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Hartford and Agnes (Imson) Russell.
He was a constant innovator and tinkerer. He was the former owner of the Mobil Service Station in Batavia, NY. He was a master mechanic; if it had a motor he could fix it.
Les is survived by his wife Blynda (Robbins) Pushor Russell of Palmyra; his sons, Bret Russell and wife Lee of Lansdale, PA; Kyle Russell and wife Roxanne of Newport; his grandchildren, Joshua Russell, Ashley Crisostomo and Yvonne Russell; great grandchildren, Daury and Camila Crisostomo; a step daughter, Amanda Pushor; his siblings, James, Ronald, and Frank Russell, and Elizabeth Borders of Wellsboro, PA.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne (Webster) Russell, mother of Bret and Kyle; and siblings Robert Russell and Mabel Beggs.
A remembrance service will be held in the future. Les was an avid animal lover so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401; or install a hummingbird feeder and remember Les every time a hummingbird appears. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
