BROWNVILLE- Lewis James Marks, 87, died peacefully in his sleep, July 11, 2013, surrounded by family.

Lewis proudly served his country in World War II with the Navy Seabees. He was happily employed at the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad for over 40 years, and will be remembered for keeping the park beautiful, and being the cook on the wrecking crew.

He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara (Gormley) Marks; his daughter, Carolyn Holland; parents, James & Carrie Marks; brothers, Edward and James; sisters, Juanita, Una, and Ardith.

He is survived by sisters, Gilda Howlett and husband, Dick, and Sandi Smith and husband ,Jon; daughters, Nancy Rosebush and husband, John, Linda O'Connor and husband, Martin, Judy Dell'Olio and husband, Lou, Wendy Graves and husband, Bill; sons, Michael and Daniel Marks; son-in-law, Don Holland; and his many special grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Sebec Village Community Christian Church, the Milo Baptist Church, all those who helped care for him at home, and the entire staff at Hibbard's Nursing Home, where he had many special friends.

At the request of the family, there will be no formal services.
