DEXTER - Linda-Jean (Kennedy) Briggs, 62, died unexpectedly January 19, 2022 at her residence. She was born June 18, 1959 in Providence, Rhode Island, a daughter of Edward and Lucille (Sevigney) Kennedy. She received a B.S. in Economics from Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH, a M. S. degree in Quality Systems from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA, and a 2nd M.S. in Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island in North Kingstown, RI. She served as Town Manager for the towns of Dexter, Waldoboro and Rumford. Prior to that Linda-Jean was a systems manager for Verizon Communications in RI and MA. She was a past member of the Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis and the Maine Municipal Association. Linda-Jean is survived by her father of Charlestown, RI; her husband, Adam Briggs of Dexter; 2 sons, Addison and Taylor Briggs of Wakefield, RI; 2 brothers Thomas and wife Lisa Kennedy of Smithfield, RI, and Paul Kennedy of Williamsburg, MA; a sister, Mary Lou and husband Paul Rossi of Charlestown, RI; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be scheduled in ME and RI at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
