BANGOR- Lloyd E. Goodine, 67, passed away on January 5, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born April 25, 1954 in Milo a son of Davis and Lorraine (Hackett) Goodine. He was predeceased by both parents, brother Davis "Bud" Goodine, Jr., and sisters Georgia (Goodine) Babbs and Roberta (Goodine) Moulton.
Lloyd graduated from Penquis Valley High School in Milo while also serving in The Neighborhood Youth Corp. He began a long career with Dexter Shoe in 1972, advancing to Factory Manager for Dexter Shoe in Newport, during which time he was offered the executive position of Caribbean Fitting Manager in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic until Dexter Shoe was suddenly sold and dissolved. Lloyd was proud of his membership and affiliation with Bangor Unitarian Universalist Church in the 90's where he served as Chief Executive Officer for four terms, Vice President and treasurer. Lloyd and Bill packed a lifetime of adventure into their 25 years together. He enjoyed a quiet life in an antique cape on the banks of the stream in Carmel, and loved his dogs and country music. Lloyd was a kind, gentle, loving man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by a sister Deborah Mahoney of Worcester, MA, her four daughters and grandnieces, all of whom were much loved by their Uncle Lloyd. He also raised a niece who was like a father to her, Bobbi Jo Searles. Additionally he is survived by his longtime companion, William Leftwich of Carmel and best friend of thirty years Phil Walton of Hampden, and his very special Jack Russell, "Sophie".
