Garland Marilyn (Mae) Elouise Giles passed away on February 21, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 27,1934 to Gilbert and Florence Mann. She was raised by her grandmother, Lizzy, who she went to visit one day and just never went home. She was predeceased by her 6 siblings. She worked for several years at Dexter Shoe until an injury forced her retirement. Her greatest joy was her family, books and her bell collection. She is survived by her husband, Dwaine of 69 years, son Gary and wife Jean, daughter, Kathy and husband Galen and son Douglas. 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She had a special nephew, Sanford Giles, who she loved like a son. She was the matriarch of the Giles family, and she took great pride in planning and hosting the annual Giles Family reunion for many years. The family would like to thank Kathy for her selfless care she gave her mother. Marilyn loved the Lord. Viewing will be Thursday, February 27th at 10:00 followed by a service at 11:00 at the Dexter Pentecostal Church on Railroad Ave. A gathering will be held Immediately following at the New Hope Baptist Church. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
