Obituary

Dexter- Marion E. Austin (Boulier), 105, of Newport, passed away peacefully October 19,, 2024, at Dexter Healthcare. Marion was born January 21, 1919, in Ellsworth, to Blanche (Lawrence) and Wayman Boulier. She was one of seven children. Marion attended Garland and Stetson schools. She resided in Exeter for 65 years where she worked on the Ben Eaton Farm. She enjoyed her garden, fall canning, cooking hearty meals, and baking. In April of 2017, Marion was awarded the Boston Post Cane as the oldest resident of Newport, Maine. Marion adored her granddaughters and looked forward to their weekly visits. Their time together doing word search puzzles, playing Skip-Bo, were some of her favorite moments. Marion is predeceased by her daughter, Marlene (Austin) Thompson; her six siblings; and a dear friend, Clarence Skillings. She is survived by her son-in law, Milton Thompson of Newport; granddaughters, Tonya and her husband David Richardson of Plymouth and Sonya and her husband Allison MacDonald of South Paris; great grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Clarke, Alex, Mildred, and Jessica; nephews, Billy, Bobby and Clarence Boulier; and nieces, Bunny Braley and Brenda Haroldsen. Visiting hours will be held from 1-2pm, Thursday, October 24 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport and will be followed by a graveside service at 2:30pm at Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
