Obituary

Maxine R. (Clukey) Bernier CAMBRIDGE – Maxine R. Bernier, 97, died December 27, 2023 at a Skowhegan nursing home. She was born May 15, 1926 in Dexter, a daughter of Eustice and Florinda (Dulac) Clukey. She graduated from N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1945. She worked at both the Chevrolet and Dodge dealerships and for many years in the office of Abbott Woolen Mill. She and her husband Roland retired to Winter Haven, Florida in 1988. They had a full and wonderful life traveling all 50 states. Maxine and her husband Roland were married for 35 years. She is survived by her son, Alan Cote of Cambridge; 3 stepchildren, George Bernier (Evie), William "Bill" Bernier (Judy) and Karen Herpak; grandchildren Kim Bock and husband George, Brenda Cote, and Shane Cote; 6 step grandchildren Billy, Anne, John, Grace and Rose Bernier and Edward Herpak; 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas Bell, Rachel Bates and Nathan Bock; 3 step grandchildren, Amy Bernier, Matthew and Ben Bernier; a step great grandson Bryce White; and a niece Sally Fanjoy and her daughter Shawna Miyamoto. Maxine was predeceased by a son Duane Cote; husband Roland Bernier; and her sister Vonnie Patchell. Maxine's wishes are to be cremated and a committal service will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter
