DEXTER - Michael Joseph Delaware, 67, passed August 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 11, 1951 in Patuxent River, MD, a son of Joseph and Louise (Strickland) Delaware. He graduated from Gaithersburg, MD High School, Class of 1969. He attended Montgomery Community College in Rockville, MD. Mike married the former Marcia Speck on May 27, 1971. They moved to Dexter in 1976 to begin construction on High Country Farm. He was hired in November 1990 by the Town of Dexter in Public Works, becoming Public Works Director until November 2014. He worked part time for Snowman's Oil beginning in 2015 through 2018 and the rest of his time was spent hobby farming. In addition to his wife of Dexter, he is survived by his mother in law Barbara Speck of Dexter; his brothers in law and their wives, Marq and Jan Speck of Detroit, MI, Scott and Nancy Speck of Strafford MO, and Eric and Judy Speck of Chamberlain, Maine.
