EXETER--Michael Allen Peirce, 71, passed away unexpectedly October 19, 2021 in Levant. He was born in Bangor, August 20, 1950, a son of Carl and Virginia (Southard) Peirce of Exeter. He grew up in Exeter, living there until his passing. He attended Exeter schools and graduated from Dexter Regional High School. Following graduation, he joined the U. S. Navy and served in the Mediterranean. After the military, Mike worked for Crane Brothers in Exeter and Dexter Shoe Company in Dexter for many years. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the grandchildren and the young nieces and nephews. Children gave him laughter that was special. He also enjoyed his wildlife family of deer that visited often in his yard. Mike also loved spending time outside and working in the woods. He was a talented carpenter and woodworker. He made many projects for family as well as building his own home. He had a very dry sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Over the years he had many dogs that he loved like family. Mike was a member of Corinna American Legion Post #73. Mike leaves behind his devoted wife of 28 years, Paula; his mother Virginia Peirce, both of Exeter; a sister Marcia and husband Dalton Meagher of Corinna; 2 brothers Malcolm and wife Valerie Peirce and Mark and wife Gayle Peirce, all of Exeter. He also will be missed by his stepchildren, Virginia Parker and partner Mike Labombard of NH, Patrick Prince and partner Chris Rener of NH, and Peter and wife Karen Prince of Milford; grandchildren Becky and Jackie; and great grandchildren Adalynn and Hazlynn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Mike will also be fondly remembered by his special lifelong friends, Steve and Linda Colbath and Elliot and Linda Austin, all of Exeter, and a special sister-in-law Shirley Bournival of Waterbury, CT. He was predeceased by his father Carl in 2004 and a brother Marvin Peirce in 2011. At Mike's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Corinna American Legion Auxiliary, c/o Linda Colbath, Treasurer, 247 Cider Hill Road, Exeter, ME 04435.
