CORINNA - Miriam "Mim" (Hilliker) King, 94, died peacefully August 21, 2022 at the Hibbard Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born July 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Errold and Vera (Sprague) Hilliker.
Mim attended Corinna schools and graduated from Somersworth (NH) High School. She served a year in the Cadet Nurse Corps at the Maine General Hospital in Portland. She married Kenneth King on June 28, 1947. She loved her little town of Corinna, the Corinna United Methodist Church and the Stewart Free Library. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the church choir. She also worked in the Corinna Post Office for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Corinna American Legion Auxiliary. She was honored to be a part of the committee that organized the new Corundel Commons Apartments. She was the first resident and loved her apartment for 12 years. She always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon and for her 80th birthday she was given that gift. She was accompanied by her granddaughter Angela and had a great time. Mim and her husband loved to travel especially with the Shrine Club trips. Mim was a positive, strong and resilient woman who showed us by example how to go forward when times were tough.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law Linda and John Dorman of Exeter; son in law William Gallagher of Corinna; and daughter in law Ona Kershner of Middleton, Wisconsin; Mim's grandchildren, Randy and Pamela Dorman of Pittsfield, Angela and Wade McCrum of Mars Hill, Amy and Jason Grenier of Oakland, Kenneth and Angela Dorman of Exeter and her grandson Andrew's widow and stepchildren Megan Gallagher, Sydney and Max. She also leaves her great grandchildren Emma Dorman, Dayna McCrum, Keara Buckley and husband Ben, Samantha McCrum, Robert Dorman, Sage and Jackson Grenier, Aidan and Ella Gallagher.
Mim was predeceased by her siblings "Bud" and Hope Hilliker, Evelyn and Charles Phelps, Gene and Ida Hilliker and sister in law Nancy King. She was also predeceased by her dear husband Kenneth King, her son Steven King, her daughter Cynthia Gallagher and her grandson Andrew Gallagher.
Special thanks to the entire staff of Hibbard's who took such wonderful care of our Mom, Gram and GG during the four years she lived there. She considered them family.
