CORINNA – Norman E. Partridge, 94, passed away peacefully April 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born December 8, 1928 in Corinna, a son of Louis and Edna (Parkman) Partridge. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1949 and also graduated from the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He was proud to serve his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. Norman was a 60 year member of the Corinna American Legion Post #73 serving as past Commander and Chaplain. He spent his life as a Master Electrician, retiring from Eastland Woolen Mill after 36 years. He was a member of the Electrical Association and served as the town's Electrical Inspector.
Norman was active in his town, serving as Selectman from 1976 to 1994, Director and President of Corinna Housing Corporation, Director of Central Maine Trail Coalition, Trustee and Chairman of the Corinna Sewer District, and past director of the Corinna Health Committee.
Norman loved family gatherings and the annual trip to the coast for a lobster.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Gloria (Gray) Partridge; daughter Tressa and husband Michael Folsom of Cambridge; and son Robert and wife Kim of Corinna; grandchildren, Jason and Samantha Partridge and Jerica and Jonathon Laurent, both of Corinna; great grandchildren Jasmine, Jenna and Jerry Laurent, and Graham Partridge of Corinna; sisters Alta Chadbourne, Mildred Stocker and Phyllis Call; and his brother Frederick.
He was predeceased by his sisters Francis Mather and Doris Bridge; great granddaughter Teagen Partridge.
A graveside committal with honors will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, May 12th at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at the American Legion Hall in Corinna.
