Obituary

Olivia G. Curtis EXETER – Olivia Gertrude (Giles) Curtis, 85, died September 20, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 7, 1938 in Dexter, a daughter of Clarence and Leonie (Chase) Giles. She attended schools in Dexter and the Emmanuel Bible Institute in Canada. She was employed at Dexter Shoe, Bangor Shoe and the Dexter Boarding Home. Olivia operated her own boarding home in Exeter for 6 years. She was a member of the Dexter Pentecostal Church and was a member of the Corinna Senior Citizens. She is survived by 2 sons, Dale and wife Marilyn of Exeter, Paul and wife Laurel of Dexter; a daughter Patty and husband Mylon Staples of Exeter; 3 brothers, Harry Giles of Dexter, Dwaine and wife Marilyn "Mae" Giles and Rodney and wife Janice Giles, all of Garland; a sister, Maxine Faloon of Mars Hill and Port St. Lucie, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Anthony and wife Ashley Curtis and Matthew and wife Lindsay Farley, Jennifer and husband Travis Easler, Tiffany Farley, and Danielle and husband Ricky Richards; 4 great grandchildren, Christian and Emily Easler, McKenzie Curtis and Violet Richards; many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Floyd, she was predeceased by 2 sisters, the Rev. Phyllis Webber and Mable Day; 3 brothers, Robert, Wendell and Herbert Giles. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, September 25th at the Dexter Pentecostal Church with Pastor Lyman Curtis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 P.M. until the time of services. Private family committal services will be held at the Chamberlain Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal. Memorial donations may be made to the Roof Fund, c/o Dexter Pentecostal Church, 48 Railroad Avenue, Dexter, ME 04930.
