Patricia A. Downing EXETER – Patricia Anne Downing, 82, passed away peacefully, December 5, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born April 29, 1941, a daughter of Herbert and Alida (Gilbert) Groleau. She married James Downing on April 22, 1961. They raised 3 children, Kathy, Judy and James. She stayed home many years to take care of her family. When her children were older, she went to work as the town clerk in Exeter and later in Corinth. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and 4:30 wine time. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and riding the back roads with her granddaughter Katie. Patricia was predeceased by her husband James Downing, her sister and brother in law, Margaret and James Higgins and many sisters and brothers in law. She is survived by her children Kathy Day and her husband Brent, Judy Pullen and companion Scott Barden, James Downing and wife Lisa; grandchildren Eric Day and wife Beth, Katie Day, Amanda Grove and husband Rusty, Mark Pullen and wife Allyssa, Nicole McGovern and husband Tom, Zach Nason and wife Roxanne, Ashley Downing and Jennifer Downing; great grandchildren, Juliette, Elijah, Harold, Frances, James, Charlotte, Reed, Liam and Finnegan; 2 sisters in law, Rita Bean and Nancy Cyr; nieces, nephews and a special niece Cindy Gauthier; and many special family and friends that would always stop by to visit with her. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Burial will be in the Vickery Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sarah's House, 346 Main Road, Holden, ME 04429.
