CARMEL & ETNA - Paul Allen Lavway, 82, died January 17, 2023 at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 18, 1940 in Etna, a son of Joseph and Pearl (Downs) Lavway. He graduated from Carmel High School and was a truck driver for most of his life, especially for Webber Oil Company. He was an avid Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan. Paul is survived by 3 brothers, Francis of Etna, Lawrence of Waterville, and Harland of Winterport; his twin sister, Pauline Braley of Auburn; a sister in law, Patricia Longley of Brunswick; a goddaughter Sandy; and his best friend, Barry Hathorne of Edgecomb. He was predeceased by his wife Judith on October 20, 2010. Friends may call from 10 to noon Wednesday, January 25th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at noon with Pastor Tammy Noyes officiating. Spring burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
