Dexter - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Peter Garrison on January 20, 2025. Peter was born in Dexter, Maine, on November 7, 1964. He lived a life of trust and resilience that left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Peter's life was a testament to the power of human kindness and the connection he found in his home, family and in the dedicated staff and residents of the group homes he resided in. OHI group homes became his sanctuaries, places of warmth and understanding where he was met with unwavering care and support. Peter's trust in his caregivers was absolute, and in return, they went above and beyond to provide him with comfort and pleasantness. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Eastern Maine Medical, St Joseph, Brewer Med, and Orono Commons for the care they gave to Peter. Peter is survived by his caring father, Keith Garrison, and his brother, Mark Garrison, of Bangor, ME, along with his extended family at his group homes. His friends and family will greatly miss his trusting nature and the simple joy he brought into their lives.
