NEWPORT--Peter Luce Leadbetter, 63, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born December 5, 1957 in Bangor a son of George and Elaine (Luce) Leadbetter. Peter was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren. Any time spent outdoors was a good day. He worked hard his whole life and always sacrificed for the betterment of his family. Peter enjoyed the annual fishing trip with his son Dan and special friends Mike Lemire, Spencer Day, and Justin Snow. Peter was a private man but was very proud of his family and all their accomplishments. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joan; his mother Elaine Leadbetter, both of Newport; son Daniel Leadbetter and companion Mary Gilpatrick of Corinna; daughter Andrea and husband Robert Gerry of Pittsfield; brother Mark and wife Ellen Leadbetter of Newport. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren whom he adored, Isiah Leadbetter, Faye Leadbetter both of Bangor, Bekah Leadbetter of Newport, Samantha Leadbetter of Corinna, Hannah and Ethan Gerry, both of Newport, and David Bolstridge of Corinna; several nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his father George Roscoe Leadbetter. Thank you to Tom LeVasseur, a very special friend to Peter whom he loved very much. Joan - "We met when I was 14, and I knew at that moment I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. You were my whole life. I love you and will see you again." Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 13th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Ellen Bridge officiating.
