Phyllis M. Cleaves

DEXTER – Phyllis Marie Cleaves, 84, died September 14, 2023 at a Portland hospital. She was born November 28, 1938 in Dexter, a daughter of Howard and Gladys (Hall) Tarr. She was a communicant of Our Lady of The Snows, St. Anne’s Church, Dexter, and was retired from the Dexter Shoe Company.

Her main focus in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sons, Philip of Dexter, David and wife Wendy of Windham; a daughter Debra and husband Stephen Cunningham of Sangerville; a brother Donald Tarr of Florida, a sister Sharon Smith of Waterville; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Brooke, Chad, Joshua, Suzy, Amy, Joseph, and Jen; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Philip, Sr.

A graveside committal service will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 30th, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter with Deacon David Denbow officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
