WILLIMANTIC- Raymond Joseph Beaudreau passed away on Saturday January 16, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A long-time resident of Willimantic, Maine, Raymond was an accomplished woodsman, hunter, craftsman, and storyteller. Raymond's extensive employment history as a technician and engineer in the cable television industry included building and improving some of the first infrastructure projects in New England and beyond. Prior to his retirement, he operated as an independent traveling consultant to companies such as Continental Cablevision of Massachusetts.

He was born October 5th, 1929 in North Adams, Massachusetts to Raymond and Fleurange Beaudreau into a proud Canadian-American family and grew up speaking both English and French. He served in the United States Army Medical Corp. While in the service, he was an Orthopedic Mechanic, making braces and casts, and he had a military qualification as a Rifle Marksman. He was honorably discharged on June 17, 1948.

Raymond and his beloved wife, Madeline would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this month. They spent many years together building live-edge pine furniture, native pack baskets, coveted by collectors as far away as Dresden, Germany.

Raymond is survived by his wife Madeline; Thomas and Linda Beaudreau of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Michael and Patricia Beaudreau of Scottsville, Virginia, Raymond Jr. and Neysa Beaudreau of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Cheryl and Michael Steuer of Adams, Massachusetts, Tracy Bailey Fraize and Darrell Fraize of Bridgton, Maine, and Sharon and Scott Fairbanks of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts.

He is predeceased by his daughter Beverly. Raymond is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Brooke, Aimee, Benjamin, Michelle, Heather, Amber, Michael, Justin, Natalie, Jeremy, Jesse, Chelsea, Myles, Connor, Michael and Joshua; and 10 great-grandchildren; his brother Francis Beaudreau; and sister, Anne Vachereau; as well as a close group of exceptional friends and neighbors.

No public services will be held.
