GARLAND- Rebecca (Spencer) Hocking, 78, of Garland passed away peacefully on June 22,2024 at Dexter Healthcare with her family and friends by her side. Rebecca "Becky" was born on April 21st,1946, in Providence RI. The daughter of Russell E. Spencer and Hazel (Northup) Spencer. She graduated from East Greenwich High School, class of 1964. She retired in 2013 from Central Maine Drafting in Dexter and previously worked for FayScott Co. for nearly 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years W. Thomas Hocking. She is survived by her son Thomas Hocking and his wife Valerie of Garland and their 3 sons, Seth, Ryan, and Ben; a Stepdaughter Cynthia Labonte of Brookfield, MA; a Stepson Ted Hocking and his wife Sally of East Baldwin, ME; Her brother Russell Spencer Jr. and his wife Patricia of West Warwick, RI; Several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, two nephews and countless of friends she made over the years. She was a talented artist, seamstress, and an amazing cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and participating in many functions through the Garland Community Baptist Church where she attended services regularly. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Crosby & Neal. At her request, a private graveside service will be held at the Ridge Cemetery in St. George, ME at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Bangor Humane Society.
