NEWPORT - Rev. Yoo Cha Yi, was born in Korea on May 17, 1952 and died March 4, 2019 at a Pittsfield hospital. Until being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017, Rev. Yi, a United Methodist pastor, had been serving churches in northern New Hampshire. She came to live with her friends Vicki Woods and Joe Bennett in Newport until her death. Previously she had served churches in Maine and Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her parents Jongsoo Yi and Namja Park, and is survived by a sister in Arizona and two brothers in Korea. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, March 18th, at the Elliot United Methodist Church in Elliot. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
