DEXTER - Richard Keith Gudroe, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 18, 2022. Keith was born January 10, 1937 in Dexter, the youngest son of Richard and Clarabelle (Wingate) Gudroe. He attended Dexter schools and married his soulmate Madeline "Tiny" (Judkins) Gudroe in December 1955. They were married for 45 years before her death in 2001.
He worked as Highway Foreman for the Town of Dexter. An avid farmer, he was known for providing the piglets to area pig scrambles each summer. He instilled many qualities into his family, a strong work ethic, homestead ingenuity and a love of all animals. Keith was a member of the Charleston Church and was proud of his role at the welcoming center. He was well known for his sense of humor, charming personality and loved having visitors.
He is survived by 4 sons, Rodney and wife Barbara of Palmyra, Richard "Dickie" and fiancee Cindy of Dexter, Michael and wife Denise of Garland, and Domino of Dexter; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Mandee (Barry), Jamie (Willie), Elijah (Nicole), Noah (Caroline), Michael (Destiny), Justin (Sam), Shekinah, Sasha, Whitney and Zachary; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 very special friends, Dave and Linda Clukey.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son Jimmy, daughter in law Patti, and brothers Floyd, Cecil and Ernest.
The family would like to thank the staff at SVH and Dr. John Baker for their exceptional care.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 24th, at the Charleston Church, 185 Main Road, Charleston, with refreshments to follow. Friends may call from 10 to 11 A.M. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
