CORINNA--Richard C. Kniffin, 70, passed away unexpectedly On November 26, 2018. He was with family, friends and co-workers at the time. He was born September 20, 1948 in Hartland, a son of Chester and Eleanor (Allen) Kniffin.
Richard grew up in Hartland and graduated from Hartland Academy. He had been employed for 18 years at Banton Brothers Mill, at Condon Electric and retired from Lucas Tree Company. Following his retirement he returned to work at Somatex in Detroit. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his gardens. He did all three exceptionally well with the focus and passion he put in to them as he did with all aspects of his life.
Richard is survived by his three children, Chris Kniffin, Andrea Kniffin Amara and husband Jason and Karen Kniffin, along with his cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Alyssa, Natalie, Alec, Rozlyn, Khari, and Jayden. He raised his children in Newport and they were his proudest achievements in his life, always making sure they were taken care of. He worked very hard to provide for them. He leaves behind many lasting memories of a kind, generous and helpful soul who had the love and passion for anything he did. Richard was predeceased by his parents and a brother Roger Kniffin.
A celebration to honor Richard's memory will be held 11 A. M. Saturday, December 1st at the Millennium Event Center, 416 Oxbow Road, Palmyra. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
