ETNA - Rita Marie Shaw, 74, died March 2, 2019 at her son's residence in Plymouth surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1944 in Waterville, a daughter of Valerien and Therese (Rossignol) Daigle. She was an accomplished seamstress having worked at C. M. Almy in Pittsfield and the Hathaway Shirt Factory in Waterville. She was a great mother and grandmother. Rita's cherished family was always her number one priority. Rita is survived by 2 sons, James and wife Missy of Plymouth, Darin of Corinna; and a daughter, Theresa Philbrook of Newport; a brother, Donald Daigle of Winthrop; 4 sisters, Evangeline Chamberland of Madison, Lillian Caret of Springfield, Alice Hallowell of Leeds, and Yvette Lake of Fairfield; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harold, on December 6, 2015; and by a brother Leon Daigle; and a sister, Mary Jane Baker. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, March 7th, at the Jubilee Family Worship Center, Elm Street, Newport, with the Rev. Brian Woodbury officiating. Spring burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna.
