CORINNA--Robert E. Davis died December 3, 2020 at the age of 74. He died doing what he loved most while hunting on his wood lot. He was born May 8, 1946 in Bangor, a son of Harold and Ida (Campbell) Davis. Bobby graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1964 and soon after was called into the U. S. Army where he served in Vietnam. Upon returning home from the war he worked at Davis Supply in Corinna with his father and brother Andrew until the business closed in 1996.
On April 15, 1972, he married the love of his life, the former Donna Jones. They were happily married for 48 years. Bobby was well known in the town of Corinna as a devoted New York Yankees fan. Over the years, he served Corinna in many ways: as a little league baseball coach, a 24 year member of the fire department, many of those years serving as Assistant Fire Chief; member of the cemetery committee and the assessment review board. For several years he served on the Mid Maine Solid Waste Board of Directors.
In addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Donna, he is survived by a brother Andrew and wife Brenda Davis; a sister Margaret Davis; 2 nephews Mark Illingworth and Stuart and wife Jennifer Davis; his special niece Erika and husband Adam Thornton and their children Ava and Colin; and the extended Jones family. Bobby was predeceased by his beloved son Brad Allen Davis.
Friends may call for a Covid appropriate visitation at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, from 10 A.M. until noon Saturday, December 12th. A family committal service will be held following visitation at the Morse's Corner Cemetery, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Corinna Fire Department, c/o Town Office, 8 Levi Stewart Drive, Corinna, ME 04928.
