Robert Leroy Estes, Sr. Obituary (1935

STETSON - Robert L. Estes, Sr., 81, died peacefully April 5, 2017 at home after a period of failing health with his family by his side. He was born July 27, 1935 in Troy, a son of Burnham and Nina (Jackson) Estes. He was a career military man as an aircraft mechanic with the U. S. Air Force for 21 years. Later he worked many years up until his wife's illness as a bank courier. He enjoyed fishing and also enjoyed working on his land in Stetson. Robert was a member of the Meridian Masonic Lodge in Pittsfield. He is survived by his 6 children, Annette and husband Christopher MacMullen of Hartland, Franklin and partner Dorothy of East Newport, Robert, Jr. and wife Gaye of Nebraska, Shari and husband John Storen of Etna, Nina and husband Henry Gerry of Corinna, Richard and wife Jane of Monmouth; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline (Vanadestine) on April 9, 2010. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Blanche Hayes, Elwood, Elizabeth Foss, Iva Wendell, Verna Willey, Burnham, and Irene Stackpole. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al Worden officiating. Private visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland, later in the spring.
