Robyn Ferne Atwater passed away 10 days before her 9th birthday on July 15th, 2023, at Eastern Maine Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on July 25, 2014, in Centralia, Illinois, and resided in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. Her life, though short, was an outpouring of love and joy that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Robyn brought an indescribable brightness to our world that will never be dimmed.
Her spirit was as vibrant as the colors of a sunrise, and she greeted each day with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired those around her. Robyn's impact was immeasurable. Her resilience and strength were evident in every smile, every laugh, and every moment she embraced with pure, uncontained joy. Her love of life and those around her was her greatest accomplishment, and it is that love and zest for life that we will always remember.
Robyn was outgoing and made everyone feel welcome. When a visitor came to her home, when there were guests, when we visited new people, when there was a new church member, or classmate, Robyn would take them in and make them feel special. She would ask them, and all those she loved, what their favorite colors and animals were before crafting something personal just for them. She loved art, always drawing or creating; She would submit her pieces to the fair, winning ribbons for her work. She was an animal lover, especially ducks, sharks and hippos. Robyn loved her family deeply, going on trips to the lake and Santa's Village, to having her older siblings home to visit. She was a good student and had lots of friends. One of the highlights of her week was attending "Activity Days" at church, attending Sunday school, and theater lessons where she participated in multiple plays. She loved learning about and bearing testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Robyn is survived by her devoted mother, Rachelle Atwater, who cherished her daughter with all her heart. They shared a bond that transcended the physical world, a connection that will persist in the memories and love that they shared. While we mourn the loss of our precious Robyn, we celebrate the love, joy, and inspiration she brought into our lives. We look forward to the time where we'll be together again, and our tears of grief will turn to tears of joy.
Robyn is predeceased by her brother Soldier Atwater Dow. She is survived by her mother Rachelle; Shem and Kathryn Atwater; grandparents Douglas and MelRae Muench; maternal grandparents David and Lucille Atwater; siblings, Tucker, Dillon and his wife Eden, Autumn, Ivy and her husband Calvin, Chandler and his fiancé Kiara, Shem, Chryshal, Gwendolyn, Jasmyn, and Kaelyn; special friend Alexa Connor; uncles and aunts, and many cousins which she adored and considered her best friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday July 25th at 5pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 660 Bangor Road, Dover Foxcroft, ME 04426. A private burial will take place at a later date.
