DEXTER – Ronald LeRoy Mountain, 88, passed peacefully on October 26, 2023 at Hilltop Manor Assisted Living in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born March 24, 1935 in Guilford, a son of Bernard and Doris (Schultz) Mountain.
He graduated from Dexter schools. Ronnie served in the Army and later worked for the Dexter Shoe Company for many years. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter and was a member of the Dexter Dusters Car Club. He enjoyed time at the family camp on Puffer's Pond, music, and antique automobiles. In 2017 Ronnie donated the 1927 Ford Model T that he and his brother William owned to the Dexter Historical Society. It is currently on display at the Grist Mill Museum.
He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, William, Wayne, and Wade; and a sister Joanne Dews. He is survived by his nephew Tom Dews and wife Christy, nieces Sharon and Laura, all from Michigan; and a nephew and niece, David and Lisa from Maine. He is also survived by his special friends Milton and Kim Hughes and Susan Reed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of The Snows, St. Anne's Church, Free Street, Dexter on Friday, November 17th at 11 A.M. with Rev. Father Rob Lupo officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
