NEWPORT- Ruby Mooers, 80, died August 19, 2021 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born November 26, 1940 in Houlton, a daughter of Henry and Nettie (Hatfield) Suitter. After retirement she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and puzzles. Ruby will be remembered for her love of country music. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry of Newport; 2 sons, Larry Mooers of Hartford, CT, and Harold Mooers of Garland; a brother, Wendell Suitter of Iowa; 2 sisters, Helen Cole of Brewer and Elsie Seavey of Newport; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa Mortenson, and several brothers and sisters. A graveside committal service will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, August 25th, at North Newport Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
