Dexter – Sandra A. Russell (Clukey), 84, passed away on September 21st, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born July 11th, 1942, in Dexter, the daughter of Clatus and Jeanette Clukey.

Sandra was born and raised in Dexter, a community she proudly called home throughout her entire life. She graduated from Dexter High School with the Class of 1960. In 1964, she married her husband, John W. Russell, and together they shared 55 years of marriage before his passing.

Sandra enjoyed the simple things that made life special. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She was also a devoted Elvis Presley fan and loved listening to his music and collecting Elvis memorabilia over the years. Above all, Sandra treasured time spent with her family and friends. She also looked forward to her daily drives around Dexter, enjoying the familiar sights of the town she had always called home. Sandra worked at Bud’s Shop N’ Save in Dexter where she met some very special friends who were dear to her.

Sandra is survived by her children, Michelle Rodrigue and husband, Tim, and John E. Russell and wife, Monica Kemm; her siblings, Joseph Clukey, Jerry Clukey, Jimmy Clukey and wife, June, Nancy Roy and husband, Art, and Neil Clukey and wife, Anne; her brother-in-law, Roy Laferriere; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, John; her siblings, Barbara Laferriere, Wayne Clukey and wife, Carole, and John Clukey; and her sisters-in-law, Fay Clukey and Susan Clukey.

Sandra’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her close circle of friends for the friendship and support they gave her throughout the years. A very special thank you is extended to Denise for the extraordinary time, care, dedication, and love she gave Sandra. Her kindness and presence meant more to Sandra and her family than words can express.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 6th, 2026 at 2:00pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter, ME. Services are provided by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home.
