Scott Thomas Russell, son, father, and brother, passed away unexpectedly July 5, 2019 in Brooksville, FL from medical complications following a recent hospitalization at the age of 39. He was born September 29, 1979 in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Stanley A. and Elaine B. (Quimby) Russell.
Scott grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter Regional High School in 1997, he later attended Eastern Maine Community College. He was very technically talented and enjoyed working with his father in various family businesses. From satellite installations at Central Maine Satellite to boat repairs, sales, and service at Russell's Marine, he always enjoyed working with his dad. Scott also enjoyed boating and being on the water, and had recently relocated to Florida to continue working in the marine industry.
Scott had a friendly, outgoing personality, with a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was extremely proud of his daughter, Sammy.
He is survived by his daughter, Samantha, of Winterport; parents, Stanley and Elaine Russell, of Winterport; sister and her husband and children, Stephanie, Jeffery, Gabriella and Alivia Koscielny, of Cambridge; and grandparents, Frank and Beverly Quimby, of Dexter. Scott is also survived by his daughter's mother, Leanne Moore, who he maintained a close relationship with, and her daughter, Cassie Hallett, who he was like a father to. Scott will also be remembered by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He is predeceased by two very dear cousins that were like brothers to him, Adrian and Jonathan Bunker.
A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, July 19th, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations for his daughter's continuing education fund may be made payable to "NextGen FBO Samantha B. Russell" and mailed to 215 Stream Rd, Winterport, ME 04496, c/o Elaine Russell.
