NEWPORT--Stanley A. Willey, 80, died December 19, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1938 in Pittsfield, a son of Harold and Susan (D'Anjou) Willey. He graduated from MCI in Pittsfield, Class of 1957, and served in the U. S. Navy. He had been employed as a handsewer in shoe manufacturing for 42 years and later as a stockperson at Wal-Mart.
Stan was an avid sports fan and loved all the New England teams. He enjoyed playing cribbage, golf, camping with his family and trips to the coast.
He is survived by 2 sons, Arthur Willey, Brian and wife Andrea Willey; 2 daughters and their husbands, Anna and Lyman Corson, Brenda and Gene Avery; a sister, Pam Weeks; 9 grandchildren, Amanda Doyle, Jessica Bradford, Jennifer Corson, Ashley Cole, Tabatha Simpson, Matthew Avery, Tadean Henry, Dre and Talia Willey; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including a very special nephew, Marc Willey; and special friends, Marilyn Willey and Sandy Stormann. Stan was predeceased by 3 brothers, Bert, John and David Willey.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, December 26th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street. Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, at the Jubilee Family Worship Center, Elm Street, Newport, with Rev. Brian Woodbury officiating. Spring burial will be in the Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
