Obituary

EXETER - Steven Robert Davis, 56, passed away on June 16, 2020. He was born on July 17, 1963, in Norwalk, CT, a son of William and Christine (Ambler) Davis. He served in the Army National Guard in Maine and worked in the I.T. department for the Hermon school system. Steve was the King of The Karaoke Kitchen and the master of the backyard smoker, where he and his beloved wife, Melanie, delighted in crafting personalized recipes. Together they planted a garden each year and he worked tirelessly to conquer the weeds that he so despised! His reward was sitting on the swing with Melanie underneath the arbor where he planted hops to brew his own beer, enjoying an evening cocktail and a superb sunset. He was a lifelong fan of the NY Mets, the Raiders and NASCAR. Steve loved golfing with his brother Glenn, and reveled in the competitive challenge. When Steve put on that black Stetson, it was his signal that it's time to sing! He had a deep love of music and enjoyed teaching his son Jay-Kob how to sing and play the bass guitar. Steve was a devoted family man and holidays were precious and treasured, always honoring the family traditions. Steve experienced life wholeheartedly, with a twinkle in his eye, which he learned from his mom and dad. He was the best of both of them, and passed these qualities down to his own children and grandchildren. He was a kind and loving soul, and will be missed by countless friends and family who have had the pleasure of knowing him throughout his life. To love Steve is to know that he loved you as well. Steve leaves behind and will be greatly missed by his parents William and Christine (Ambler) Davis of Westfield, MA; his cherished wife of 15 years, Melanie (Boucher) Davis; his in-laws Leroy and Bea Violette, all of Exeter; his brother Glenn and wife Tracy of Westfield, MA; daughters Heather Lincoln and fiance Scott, Ann Zitaner, Rachel Finnemore, and Brittany Dutton; sons Jay-Kob Davis, Toby Dutton and wife, Fara; 2 brothers-in-law Chris Boucher and fiancee Lisa and Corey Boucher; grandchildren Alivia, Tyrion, Daemon, Noah and Ethan; a nephew Brian; and a niece Allison. Steve will also be missed by his "Bonus" children and grandchildren Kyle and Samantha Metcalf, Gauge, Mykalah and Elsie and his "Bonus" mom Maxine Bass. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U. S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
