PLYMOUTH - Teri Lee Melanson, 63, peacefully passed away July 20, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. Teri was born on April 30, 1956 in Bangor a daughter of Leon and Shirley (Malcolm) Hopkins of Plymouth.
Teri met her husband Leland at Pittsfield Motor Sales where they both worked. They were married on October 7, 1978. Teri and Leland built their forever home together in Plymouth where they raised their 3 children, whom she loved dearly.
Teri is also known as "Mamie" by her six grandchildren that she adored and loved spending time with. She enjoyed summers around the pool watching her grandkids play and picking apples with them in the fall.
Teri spent many years operating a successful online shopping business. She enjoyed baking, playing board games, spending time at their camp and being with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Leland Melanson; parents Leon and Shirley Hopkins; 2 brothers Fred Hopkins and wife Jeannie Hopkins, and Brad Hopkins; sister Cathy Flye, all of Plymouth; and sister Diane Ash and her husband P.D. Ash of Basalt, Colorado. She is also survived by her children, son Jarrod Melanson, daughter Rebecca Woodard and son-in-law, Douglas Woodard, all of Plymouth; and daughter Christina Hughes and son-in-law, Shannon Hughes of Newport. She will also be deeply missed by her 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Chase, Seth, Melanie, Courtney and Leland; and 2 great-grandsons, Colton and Cooper. Teri will be missed by many family members and friends.
Teri was predeceased by her brother, Blaine Hopkins; nephew, Tyler Hopkins and her niece Jennifer Flye.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25th at Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church, Plymouth. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in the Sawyer Cemetery, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teri's memory can be made to the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute, 33 Whiting Hill Road, Brewer, Maine 04412.
