ST. ALBANS - Theodore M. Erving, 74, died January 29, 2016 at a Pittsfield hospital.

He was born May 17, 1941 in Wellington, a son of Perley and Frances (Stewart) Erving. He worked in construction as a young man and later worked as a woodsman and handsewer for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his mother, Frances Libby of Harmony; he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly Erving of St. Albans; his children, Donna Stewart and husband Robert, Randy Erving, Robert Erving and wife Mandy, Robin Reynolds and husband Jeffery, all of St. Albans; and a son Gerald Erving and wife Stacy of Burnham; grandchildren, Joshua and Nichole Stewart, Nick and Abbie Reynolds, Amanda Kenny, Heidi Hartsgrove, Amy Thompson, Alison, Alex, Megan, Jeremy, Zach and Morgan Erving; 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Huff and Deborah Morrison; 3 brothers, Jeffrey, Lester and Daniel Erving.

Ted was predeceased by his father Perley and brother Donald Erving.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, February 8th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Leonard Reiss officiating.

A spring committal service will be held at the Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans.
