Timothy E. Kundert
NEWPORT - Timothy E. Kundert, 59, passed away on October 3, 2021 at his residence.
Timothy was born December 4, 1961 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a son of Lillian Thompson (Fogg) and
William Kundert of Mattawamkeag, Maine. Tim was a man of his word and would always speak the
truth whether you wanted to hear it or not. He deeply loved his family and friends. Tim served in the
Army as a young man and had several construction jobs along the way. Tim was employed at Cianbro for
many years as iron worker/rigger. He left Cianbro in 2013 due to declining health. Tim enjoyed fishing,
driving around in the car and relaxing watching his TV shows. He loved spending time with his children &
granddaughter and always had Sunday dinners with them. Tim will be remembered by his big smile, his
quirky personality, his inappropriate sense of humor and how he truly lived by the saying "you only live
once". He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. If you needed someone to talk to or lend a hand
no matter the time of day, he was your guy and he always had the best advice.
Tim is survived by his children, Sierra Kundert of Oakland, Mitchell Grass of Hartland and Corey
Kundert of Thomaston; a granddaughter Adalyn Sky Kundert of Oakland whom he cherished so much.
He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth Thompson of Pittsfield, Ronny Thompson of Medway,
William Kundert of New Haven CT; his sisters, Annette Decarlo of Shelton CT, Madeline James &
Donna; his favorite aunties Beverly and Snooky; Sierra's mother Christine Brown whom he cared for very
much over the years. Also many, many cousins & friends.
Tim was predeceased by his parents, his step father Kenneth Thompson Sr., several friends and his best
friend, Dale Call of Newport. Tim also was predeceased by Mitchell's mother, Leisha Grass (Leighton)
who was just as wild as Tim. With a very heavy heart we are grieving the loss of this wonderful father,
friend and brother who will never be forgotten. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
