Dexter, Penobscot
On April 27, 2026 Heaven gained an angel when Tina Strazzullo Fogarty passed away, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 31, 1932, in Somerville, MA, Tina was the youngest child of Tobia and Margherita Aiello Strazzullo. Tina, whose first language was Italian, attended Somerville schools, and furthered her education at The Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, MA.
On July 5th, 1954 Tina married the love of her life, our very Irish Dad, Robert D. Fogarty, and they lived every word of their vows for 54 devoted years. Six weeks after they married, Dad began a two year deployment to Okinawa, signing every letter home, "Ti amo, Ti!"
Upon his return Mom began her career as a corporate wife, supporting Dad on moves around New England and raising five children in Dexter, ME. Luckily for us, Mom was known for her love of cooking, especially spaghetti and Sunday dinners; a seat at her table was a special spot. When Dad's health faltered, "Dr. Tina", became his resident nutritionist and loving care giver until his passing in 2013.
Tina is survived by five children and their spouses, Jeanmarie Russell (Michael) of Penobscot, ME; John Fogarty(Laurie) of Dexter, ME; Catherine Barillas(Gustavo) of Litchfield, NH; Margaret Llopis(Perry) of Melbourne, FL and Karen Bruaw(Jeff) of Auburn, NH.
Lovingly known as Nannie, Tina leaves 12 grandchildren: Alisa Bouchard (Matthew), Emily Adour(Jason), Meagan Pritchard (Edwin), Devin Fogarty(Dorrie), Trevor Fogarty(Dana), Isabel Saslow(Alec), Lt Col. Jonathan Barillas (Emily), Maj. Trent Barillas(Katie), Christopher Barillas, Spencer Llopis(Julie), Madeline Llopis (fiancé Kenny Lopez), Jacqueline Llopis, and great grandchildren Claire, Audrey and Reed Bouchard, Ava and Pearl Adour, Ella and Chloe Pritchard, Sophia and Riley Fogarty, Bennett and Casey Saslow, Elizabeth, Louisa and Josephine Barillas, Jackson Barillas, Weston and Camden Llopis, Hailey and Matthew Hampton.
Tina was predeceased by her brothers and their spouses, Joe and Adele Strazzullo, Vinny and Lorraine Strazzullo, Frankie and Betty Strazzullo, brother-in -law Rev. Dr. John C. Fogarty, sister-in-law Mary Fogarty Lavin and her husband Joe, and a niece Annmarie Strazzullo. Tina also leaves beloved nieces, nephews and their families.
Our family is so grateful for the exceptionally loving care and support "Momma Tina" received at The Courville Manchester, in Manchester, NH.
A funeral will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, May 9th at Our Lady of the Snows, Dexter, ME.
Those that wish may make a contribution in Tina's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
"Ti amo, Ti!"
We all love you.
