Obituary

NEWPORT - Vivian Jean Wilson, 74, passed away on Saturday, July 4th, 2020 at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born August 14, 1945 in Newport, a daughter of Norman and Barbara (Gray) Garnett. She was a graduate of Nokomis Regional High. Vivian worked at the Dexter Shoe Company for 37 years until the factory closed in 2007. Later Vivian was a C.N.A. mostly doing home health care until her retirement. In her early years, she enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, crafting, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed collecting dolls and teddy bears. Weekly trips to U.N.H. to watch Danielle play basketball (2003-2007) were important to her as well. Recently, she spent time working on puzzles with her husband and enjoyed time spent with her great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her ability to stretch a dollar, her family Christmas parties, and her love for her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Llewellyn "Punky" Wilson of Newport; 2 daughters, Kim Clark of Clinton and Laurie Michaud and husband Victor of Turner. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Carrie Pike of Bangor, Danielle Clark of Portland and Michael Michaud of Farmington; 4 great grandchildren, Iziah, Xavier and Zander Pike, and Abbie Mae Vivian Michaud. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, July 10th, at the North Newport Cemetery, with the Rev. Randy Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newport Fire Department, c/o Town Office, 27 Water Street, Newport, ME 04953. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
