WANETA R. SHAW

PALMYRA--Waneta R. Shaw, 68, went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2011. She was born October 15, 1943 in Madison, the eldest daughter of Merton and Violet (Washburn) Bowring.

She graduated from Madison High School and will be remembered as an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lester Shaw of Palmyra; daughters, Carla and husband Edwin Davis of Chester, Leslie and husband Mark Hewey of Cornville, Vicki Irish and her companion Lewie Irish, Monica Bowring, Tina Bowring and her companion Eric Rouillard, all of Palmyra; siblings, Marylee Clukey and companion Hugh Breingan, Merton Bowring II and wife Carolyn, all of Skowhegan, Grace Connors and Rita Adams, both of Madison, Jack Boulette of Skowhegan, and Jay Luce of Portland; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashlyn, and Michael Bowring, all of Palmyra, Leann and Adam Hewey of Cornville, Andrea Rouillard of Palmyra; several cousins, nieces, nephews; an aunt Geraldine Dameron of Madison ; and stepmother Mary Bowring of Madison.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Ellen; a brother Jim Luce; a son Robert Bowring; grandson Rudy Davis; and a son-in-law Mike Irish.

At her request, there will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Hospice of Eastern Maine. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
