PLYMOUTH- Wayne Douglas Clark, WO4, (75). We have the sad news to share of the passing of a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Wayne graduated in 1966 from Camden-Rockport High School. Then enlisted in the Army in 1967 where he trained to become a helicopter pilot. He served 2 tours in Vietnam with the 174th Assault Helicopter Company where he earned a plethora of awards: The Purple Heart, three Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Bronze Star. He loved flying, so it was natural that it became his career. He joined the National Guard part time with the 112th Medevac Co., but also started his own cleaning business. Wayne was offered another opportunity with ME Helicopter out of Augusta. He then returned to the Guard where he retired in 2008.
In his "free" time Wayne really enjoyed fishing in the "big water" (along the coast). So much so, that he started his fishing charter business with his son as 1st mate around E. Boothbay. Then camping became a fun time for the family; it evolved from a tent to a small camper, to an even bigger camper! We discovered some beautiful places to enjoy. We are blessed to live here in Maine.
Wayne was predeceased by his father, Arnold Clark, his mother, Elisabeth (Bryant) Clark of Lincolnville; and one brother, Brian Clark of Calais. He is survived by his loving wife of "almost" 50 years, Judy (Kelley) Clark; his daughter, Kristen Brazier of Brewer, his son, Aaron & wife, Lori Clark of Etna, 3 brothers, Bill and his wife, Brenda Clark of Isle Au Haut, Bob and his wife Juelle Clark of Germantown, TN, and Kevin Clark of Belmont. One grandson, Clancey Brazier of Brewer, 2 special grand dogs, Rae & Keegan, and many nieces, nephews, & cousins.
We are planning a Celebration of Life on June 15th, at 1: 00pm at the Odd Fellows Hall in Hermon.
In lieu of flowers, possible donations in Wayne's name could be Wounded Warriors, or Togus Springs Hospice Unit, or a particular charity of your choosing.
