EXETER - Wendell Sherman Bennett, 87, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021 with Marion, his wife of 61 years, at his side. He was born April 12 1934 to Robert and Freda Bennett.

Following his service in the Air Force, he was employed for many years by Eastland Woolen Mill until its closure and completed his working career at Dexter Shoe Company until his retirement.

Over the years, he and Marion were able to travel through most of the United States and much of Canada with their trusty truck and camper. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing and eating out. Wendell was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Exeter where he also served as a member of the Executive Board.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Louise and Roberta, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, May 13th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport with the Rev. Chris Faloon officiating. Friends may call from 1 P.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery in Exeter.
