Obituary

GARLAND - Wendell Giles, 88, died unexpectedly April 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1931 in Corinna, a son of Clarence and Leonie (Chase) Giles. He was stationed in Germany with the Army during the Korean War. He retired as a foreman after 38 years at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He was Vice Commander of Poulliot-Sevey Post 53, American Legion in Dexter and attended the 7th Day Adventist Church. He is survived by his wife, Colleen, of Garland; 5 sons, Johnathan and wife Marlene of Guilford, Sanford of Garland, Timothy and wife Cathy of Dexter, Jeffrey of Florida and Christopher and wife Andrea of Pittsfield; 5 daughters, Veronica and husband Chuck Burke of Corinna, Deborah and husband Galen Tibbetts of Dexter, Laurie and husband Jeffrey Gardner of Newport, Marielle and husband Kevin Edgecomb of Mount Desert, Kimberly and husband Nathan Faloon of Florida; 4 brothers, Dwaine and wife Marilyn of Garland, Harry of Dexter, Rodney and wife Janice of Garland, Herbert and wife Gracie of Dexter; 2 sisters, Maxine Faloon of Mars Hill, and Olivia Curtis of Exeter; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wendell was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mable Day and Phyllis Webber; and a brother Robert. Private family committal services will be held at the Corinna Village Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
