WILLIMANTIC - William "Bill" Dauphinee, 96, died August 2, 2021 after many years of commitment to his family and friends. He was born Nov. 20, 1924 in Monson, a son of Willie Lawson and Myrtle (Knowles) Dauphinee. Bill served his country in the Navy for 3 years from 1944 to 1946. He thoroughly enjoyed being a self-employed woodsman/landowner all his life. He purchased a sawmill in 1972 and served the local community with firewood and lumber. Bill was passionate about being a good steward of the land he owned, and preserving it for the next generation.
He is survived by his son Steven and wife Deanna; daughter Linda; 8 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many special friends. He was predeceased by his faithful wife Ruth, and daughter Sandra. He was lovingly cared for by his son and daughter until he went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, August 13th, at Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft. Bring your memories. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, August 14th, at the Willimantic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, a cause that Bill supported. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
