Obituary

DEXTER - William "Bill" Handville, 93, died April 6, 2022 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born February 28, 1929 in Somerville, New Jersey, a son of William and Anna (Kavanaugh) Handville, Sr. Bill served in the Army during the Korean War and graduated from the American Institute of Banking with a Bachelor's degree. He was a communicant of Our Lady of The Snows, St. Annes Parish in Dexter and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis, and was an honorary member of the Eastern Maine Beagle Association. He and his wife moved to Maine in 1969 while he served as bank manager in Bridgton and Norway, retiring from the Dexter Branch of Key Bank in 1991. He is survived by 2 sons, Scott and husband Colin of West Gardiner and Robert and partner Jackie of South Paris; 2 daughters, Susan and husband Donald McDaniel of Corinna, Lisa and husband Jason Derrig of Greenfield, MA; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his wife Marjorie on January 9, 2010. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 19th, at St. Annes Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Father Rob Lupo officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
